We like the Hero, we like the Rocker, but wanted a faster version with the best parts of both and more. David Knight and I assimilated input from Team JK, non-team JK, dealers, kayak schools, expedition boaters, steep-creekers, and river runners of all skill levels, then pooled what paddlers liked from creekers by other brands as well. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, we went for the magic combination of top-rated features and qualities to create a confidence inspiring, “personal first” generating kayak that is safe, ready for anything, and will have your back. We got lots of good input during the testing of Prototype 1 on Bear Creek, Caney Fork (big water testing, and also waterfall/steep rapid testing), Tellico at multiple levels, and Suck Creek. We made some tweaks in the hull for Prototype 2.0 and put it through the paces on the Green, Horse-pasture, Mann’s, Mill, Bear, Tellico, Cascades, Rock Island, Caney Fork, Cain Creek, and in Mexico on the Micos and Salto. We have now completed the design, with a few parting line tweaks, and our Prototype 3.0 is now called the Villain S.
