Rec'Repair Emergency Repair Kits include everything you need to field repair no matter how far from civilization you may be. These kits utilize the same water-activated MRE heater bags used in the field by campers and soldiers. Adding the included salt tablet and water to the heater bag triggers a reaction that produces steam and enough heat to make the patch flexible. Small Kit Large Kit • 1 each: 3"x3" & 2"x6" repair patches • 1 each: 5"x5", 3"x3", 2"x7" repair patches • 2 water-activated heater bags • 3 water-activated heater bags • 2 salt tablets for heater activation • 3 salt tablets for heater activation • Gloves • Gloves • Foil bag packaging • Foil bag packaging • Alcohol wipes for surface cleaning • Alcohol wipes for surface cleaning HOW THE KITS WORK PREPARE Clean the damaged area with the alcohol swabs provided. The area should be dry and free of dirt and debris or the patch may not work. Remove all contents from foil bag. Put on protective gloves. Add appoximately 3 ounces of water to the zip lock bag containing a salt tablet agitating to begin to dissove the tablet. Tear off the top of the heater and pour water and remaining salt tablet from the zip lock bag into the heater bag. This activates the heater. HEAT Heat the patch with the water-activated heating bag, included in the kit,by placing the activated heater and the patch into the foil pouch until the patch becomes flexible, approximately 5 to 10 minutes. PEEL After the patch is heated and flexible, peel off the adhesive backing. APPLY Form the patch material over and around the damaged area. Press to ensure consistent adhesion. Shape the patch until it cools in 1 to 2 minutes and becomes rigid. Within minutes, your repair is complete.
